[iMac] anybody notice 104.7 wedging up on Intel iMac?

Not yet on this 'puter.  But, the OS does all that housekeeping itself behind the scenes.

Why?  I am fine until I have been running for a a day or so with lots of open applications.  What would I gain by booting into Safe Mode?
