    Interesting... I thought it wouldn't work, since it applies a 
uniform sound level to all the MP3 files, which blithely ignores the 
potential of some songs/albums to be purposely louder/softer than 
others... (hmmm... I wonder if iTunes Sound Check works on the same 
principal?). But then I noticed you can apply it do a particular 
playlist rather than all the files, so perhaps I'll test it on 
particular albums I've rip'd and see if it bumps up the sound enough...
    Like I mentioned before I have a ton of songs ripped on my HD, but 
one of the main culprits of low sound is Dire Straits "Brothers In 
Arms". Anyone else have particular CDs that are like that?
