Preserving Playlists

Hi list,

Would anyone be able to enlighten me on how I can preserve playlists if I
scratch my library and reimport all my media.   My rational for doing this
is because somehow I have managed to import the same songs (file copies)
twice and now the only way I can see to streamline everything is delete the
duplicates and then use a sync program to match what I have on my powerbook
to what I have on my desktop and reimport the resulting updated music
folder.
