I have found an excellent FM transmitter kit from Datakit. It runns off of 8 AA batteries and has a range of 300 feet. It has a keypad to set the frequency and sounds great. I get a little static when I have the frequency set on a local broadcast station. The kit costs $99.00. I am in the process of making a box for it, the keys tend to accidentally get pressed transporting the bare board.
