iTunes 4 trouble

I am having major trouble burning from iTunes. When I select a "burn 
selected playlist" I get a message suggesting I do not have to set 
start and stop times, actually after the first hour burn it's 
impossible to change the start and stop times. After a couple of burns, 
the burning just refuses to do it's thing. Don't know exactly what's 
going on but it's got me worried.
