Kunga - I did a batch conversion of my 50GB mp3 folder. I did as you stated (Advanced > convert to AAC). I have a dual 1.3Ghz G4 (customized g4/500 with a Powerlogix card), 2GB Memory. It took 3 days and nights :) Anyway, after the conversion, all files sat in the iTunes folder. (Now it was 90GB). I sorted the folder by "kind". Then deleted all mp3s. Results: I cant tell much difference from the original mp3s - so I didn't lose anything, at least to my ears, and I saved 10GB of storage.
