[iTunes] Sharing the itunes library on single mac

Hi List,

I would like to manage a single library for two users on an emac

My wife, children and I have seperate logins on an emac running 10.2.8

I would like to share my library with my wife and then only manage a 
single library thereby saving the disc space and making the latest mp3, 
available to her when she is working

I have changed the permissions on the itunes directory below my user 
directory.

When she is logged in she can see the directory but she does not see 
the latest uploaded mp3's  unless she re-imports the mp3's from mu 
shared drive.


Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
