YMMV, but at different times I want to see particular musical styles, 
while other times I am looking for a particular musician/group or trying 
to find one song by title. So I find myself switching the "type" I sort 
by.

BTW, isn't the original way iTunes sorts, by the order in which you added 
the song to the Library?
