[iTunes] one podcast crashes device

Hello, all,

I have one podcast (the entire group of episodes I've yet to hear)
that will crash my iPod (60GB) if I try to play any of them. I can
listen to other shows and music with no problems.

I suspect that one of the shows is corrupted and affecting that group.
What I don't know is how to fix it. I wondered if an upgrade to the
new iTunes would help it resolve itself, so I did that when it came
across my screen. No luck.

Syncing seems to be accurate. iTunes seems to know which shows I've
heard/not, so I have considered wiping the iPod clean and re-loading
everything.

Before I do that, I'd like to know what others think. Are there other
things I should try, first? Or, am I waaaay off track and need to do
something else? Or, is this a worst case and I need to claim
Applecare?
