Why? What are you hoping to accomplish? And where are you dragging the 
song files *from*? They normally reside in your iTunes Library, why 
would they be anywhere else?

I believe that your protected AAC files can only reside within your 
iTunes library. If you delete them without a backup, you will probably 
lose them.

You *do* have your iTunes library backed up don't you? If not, you are 
crazy/foolish. If you do, you can "recreate" (whatever that means) from 
your backup.

I think you should proceed with caution here. Clearly state what you 
want to accomplish and perhaps there is a less drastic (and risky) way 
to accomplish it.

If you want more valuable and specific suggestions, you would need to 
supply some information, like what computer you have, what operating 
system you are using, what version of iTunes you have, etc.
