[iTunes] what makes a file a podcast?

I'm not looking for a definition of what a podcast is, I'm concerned  
with what "tells" iTunes that an audio file that's in the library is  
a podcast.
Is there a tag that "makes" a podcast a podcast, or is it just the  
genre tag?
