[iTunes] password difficulty

So many times when I run iTunes and check for available downloads from the store my password doesn't work. I type it in very carefully. Then they tell me it's incorrect and disable it. This drives me nuts. I know I might have hit the wrong key the first time but not over and over. Does anyone have any info on this problem?
