A little OT, I know, but thanks for sending this – it brought me out of lurking. Simple comment:<BR>

-Buy Virtual PC. Use it the absolute minimum you need to. Just tell the IT department you do have a PC at home and they will be none the wiser. Try to use the Mac for as much as possible, use VPC as a last resort and never receive email on it if you can help it. It won’t win any speed awards, but get the version with Win 2000 and pretend it’s a computer of that vintage and you should be fine.<BR>

In a pinch, buy the cheapest PC you can get and a USB KVM switch and a Mac Mini. Use the PC as a stand for your Mac Mini. Use the PC for the bare minimum again, but try some gaming on it – could be fun.<BR>
<BR>
All in all, both options are cheaper in terms of $ and time than daily use and patching of a PC. I have owned multiple versions of both and I just don’t have time and money to maintain a PC at this point – VPC does it for me.<BR>
