You could use one of the new flat panels with a different video card. I
think that Doc Bott makes a adapter as well. If you are doing color critical
work look into the Lacie Blue line. We use them exclusively with our Pre
Press team and Creative team. The 19 inch is under $500 and has incredible
color. If you were looking for just a CRT, look into the View Sonic line at
your local Best Buy or Circuit City. They are an exceptional value and you
can still use your apple adaptor if needed.

Subject: [BusMac] New Monitor
I wonder if someone might be able to help?
I urgently need a new monitor to replace my old ColorSync, and I want
one of the new LCD displays. Unfortunately I'm still using a PowerMac
8500/150. (What monitor connection is that) so a Mac monitor is out.
A Formac would be nice. Would I be able to use one with my current
cpu? And when I upgrade the cpu (soon) will I still be able to use it
with one of the new Macs?
I'm getting mixed responses from dealers, and cannot contact Formac
through their website (US/Canada only)
