Help! Core stuck in enclosure

I have a problem list

My cube is stuck in its enclosure. The handle clicks down and then out but
the core only withdraws about 1/4 inch, then sticks fast.

Can anyone offer me a clue as to what I can do?

I did notice that since installing a Powerlogix card, the latch occasionally
stuck a bit (I had to push harder on the handle to release it) but I've
never had this problem.
