	For what it is worth I am running Panther on a G4 Tower with 
a Seagate 160 GB External HD USB 2.0/Firewire through a Fire hub with 
no problems. Also, a 30 GB MCE drive on a Cube with Panther  also 
with no problems. I've re started numerous times and retain my data. 
So there does not seem to be a fixed rule.

	I am not gloating, I've had my problems, but caution should 
rule because of this variability.
