AirPort question...

Folks,

Do AirPort cards sometimes gradually degrade and lose their ability to 
receive a signal?

We have a Cube with an AirPort card installed and the thing is less 
than 25 feet from the base station.

Recently the signal strength has become wildly variable (even down to 
nothing) as shown by the indicator in the OS X toolbar. So I'm 
wondering if the AirPort card is going flakey....

Any thoughts?
