The monitor is really easy to open and you can just disconnect the 
connector that goes to the switch. i have some pictures somewhere on 
www.cubeowner.com of my 15 inch pulled apart if that might help, too 
lazy to go hunting now but if you look in the gallery under mawgadog or 
ozzy wells you should find them.
