[Cube] CD/DVD replacement on the cheap

Well, nuts.

Last spring, in the eleventh hour of Applcare, my CD/DVD failed. Good 
timing, I thought, and sent it in for repair. Well, it just failed 
again, leading me to believe they did not use a mint component. I'm 
considering an upgrade to G5, so I'm curious to know if anyone has 
found a cheapo replacement strategy. I do not require either DVD or 
burning capacity.
