[Cube] New Cube

Hello.  New Cube has arrived...it seems in slightly
less quality shape than appeared on ebay.  Anyway - my
questions have to do with video, I'll have to live
with the cracks and scratches on case. 

Cube Specs: 450MHz, 1.06GB RAM, 120GB HD (formatted to
111), Mac OS 10.4.3, NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 32MB.

Am using Sony LCD monitor at moment with a HD15
connection.  Earlier I was using an older NEC
Multisync with same connection.  Both monitors produce
the same problem.  I will try to describe.

Right now I am composing in Yahoo.  The Yahoo window
background is dirty white (it is usually bright white
using the Sony as a second monitor hooked to our PB
G4), the text is black.  Wherever there is a text
line, or any highlight box/entry field/button/graphic
i.e. Cc:, Bcc:, Subject:, etc... a horizontal, light
charcoal grey line is visible across the whole screen
(appearing also to be behind the text in the line.) 
When no windows are open the desktop picture appears
to be subtlely undulating.   What could/would cause
this?  The monitor image and appearance is very poor
and definitely not acceptable for any length of time.
