Ralph,

great idea, didn´t think of that one yet. I´ll give it a try!

Weird feeling btw: as I write I`m running everything, system, software, docs
etc, from a jaz. Crusty (sometimes) very finicky jaz - who would have
thought it`d come to my rescue like that?

Sometimes Norton will identify/mount a drive that no other software=20
sees, but I can't remember where in the menu it shows up.

Another alternative is to try a HD utility like FWB, if you can mount=20
it then Diskwarrior might be able to salvage the directory.
