PB2400 questions ?

I notice there is a small swtich on the 2400 motherboard:

1) exp ROM install
2) exp ROM boot

Anyone know what that does ?

Second question:  Other than swapping parts around, is there anyway 
to tell what component (powerboard vs motherboard vs CPU board) is 
causing a GLOD ?    I notice my on GLOD 2400 , the CPU gets warm (the 
fuses are all ok).
