Hmm..... try wiggling the AC adapter near where it plugs into the 
Duo.  You may have a loose AC socket which can make a ticking sound 
as it makes poor contact.

If not that, then I think you might need a new mobo.  I had a 2300 
with a similar problem I could not fix.
