Hello Rich:

I think there might be problems with trying to install from the PM to
the Duos over ethernet. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try. I've
only installed over SCSI from an installer.

What I would do next would be:

1.) If you can mount the Duo hard drive on the PM desktop (using
Ethernet), try to copy over your System folder to the Duo. Use only
the extensions you absolutely need to enable Ethernet and
OpenTransport and filesharing for this. Some extensions that are
being used by the PM will not copy over. Restart with Extensions
disabled (shift at start, until no extensions message), make copies
of files that didn't copy over, rename them or compress them and try
copying again.

2.) Remove the PPC only extensions and control panels if you don't
need them (I don't remember which Duo you have).

3.) When you say that you have OS 8.0, is that on the PM? If not,
then what functioning OS is on the PM?

This is why top down posting is so necessary here, so that info like
this is left on the page for quick and easy problem solving.

This doesn't really sound like a difficult problem, it's just getting
enough information together to suggest a viable solution.
