What types of files are you trying to burn? Are you trying to make a copy of 
another CD or just making a CD of files already on your hard drive? Are you 
trying to make an MP3 CD? Are you watching the monitor screen during the burn 
attempt? Is your burner a stock Apple CD-RW or a Combo drive?

You left out a lot of information that could help provide clues to the 
problem.
