Sound editing question

"I bought Toast w/ Jam to digitize some 1973 tapes 
of my grandmother. Tapes
are digitized, but now I need to shorten one aiff 
file and can't figure out
how to do it in these programs.

Am I missing something or do I need another 
program? Thanks."



I think you can edit sound in imovie and get 
resonable control. Quicktime will do a fast and 
dirty job. DigiDesign has a very complicated (to 
me anyway) program for sound recording and editing 
that is free. Coaster can cut it on the fly but 
thats asking alot.
