problems with roundabout OS partitioning

I wanted to put my OS9 and OSX on separate partitions. I was told by a
friend, after looking forever in Mac Help for any indication on how to do
it, that I would either need to use Norton or get a hold of someone's OS9
install CD and install it on my new OS9 partition. Instead I took the OS9
System folder and Applications and copied them to the new OS9 partition
drive. Then I erased the OSX drive and reinstalled all the OSX software on
that partition (excluding the OS9 install which comes in my OSX software
restore).
So in a roundabout way I put the different operating systems on separate
partitions. I opened an OS9 program install in OSX and it recognized it and
installed it on my OS9 drive.
Are there going to be any problems from me partitioning my drives by
"cheating" this way? Like problems with the computer finding files or the
two OS talking with each other?
