[G4] problems with roundabout OS partitioning

I have OS 9 and OS X on different drives, same as different partitions, 
and have not had any problems with this arrangement. Some of my OS 9 
apps are on the OS X drive and some are on the OS 9 drive, but all 
behave properly.
