[G4] X upgrade - Not happy

Yeah, it's sort of a bummer. But, to be honest. OSX is slower than OS9
(we are talking about normal type Finder functions here). Nothing you do
will make it as fast as OS9. Even if you bought a new Dual 1.25 MHz G4,
running OSX on it would still feel slower than OS9 on your 450.

Other than what you've mentioned, the two things I've done to speed
things up a little bit more are:

1.	Faster hard drive. I bought a Western Digital 120 gig drive with the
8Meg cache from Fry's for $100 after rebates and noticed a little
snappier performance.

2.	Used Nortons Speed Disk to defrag/optimize using the OSX profile.
I've used Speed Disk for years on OS9 without ever noticing much of an
improvement. With the OSX profile, I noticed a defintate, but small, improvement.
