[G4] Best way to partition an external drive.

Thanks.  The EZquest Cobra comes preformatted for Mac/Windows.  EZquest
recommends mac users to do a low level (zero level) formatting.  Should I do
this using Apple's disk utility: first a low level formatting, then create
partitions.  Or can I just create the partitions on top of the Mac/Windows
formatting?

Should be pretty simple. Use Apple's Disk Utility to erase and  
partition the drive. You simply drag a slider to divide the drive into  
the partition sizes you want. I think FireWire drives work just like  
internals in that respect.
