bad preferences

Hi,

I'd appreciate some advice on how to find and deal with specific bad 
preferences.  I'm using a PBG4 and 10.2.6. After losing the ability to 
type in numbers from my numeric keyboard, I moved my preferences out of 
the library, restarted and found that the numeric keyboard worked.

What I'd like to find is a shortcut or program to test the individual 
preferences.  I noticed when adding some preferences back into the new 
preferences that often when I'd add one set of preferences a number of 
others would also appear.  So I'm not confident  fro example that 
taking out Dreamweaver's preferences -ones with Dreamweaver's name in 
it would allow me to find them all.

Is there a way to remove Dreamweaver's preferences and still retain my 
site definitions?
