For those that responded I purchased a new battery from Fry's about six
months ago and the voltage still looks good - when removed from the Mac.
Fry's could have sold a bad battery so I will try to find a fresh one at
Radio Shack.
Regarding Robert's comment I do NOT run NTS all the time due to a major bug
in Mac OSX that does not alert the user when the dialup connection is
disconnected. The NTS cannot deal with disconnects and get it brains
scrambled and caused all kinds of problems with Entourage etc. When I notice
the time has reverted to Dec 1969 and know I am connected, I use the NTS to
set the OSX clock.
I don't understand how pulling the plug effects the time. All other prams
seem to hold up
