[G4] Hard drive dead?

Jon is not alone on this "randomly recur on my 450 DP with my 80G 
Maxtor". This has been a big problem on tower Macs from the Gs to the 
present. Boot problems also abound.

The failer to spin up is because the OS fails to mount the drive; It doe 
not mean the drive is dead.

I use to move the drives to different a BUS; wich sometimes helped, 
Temporarily.
