[G4] Constant Catalog Corruption

So after reading that article I'm a little confused, maybe you can help me
out. I understood that journaling was mainly for servers, but the main thing
I couldn't seem to find was would there be any disadvantage to using
Journaling. I saw there would be some performance drop that would be almost
unnoticable. But would journaling cause problems with my catalogue or help
it? I've had it on through out my problem with corruption. Any thoughts?
