The G5 comes with a 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet port standard, so it already
has gigabit on the logicboard. And as others have pointed out, even the
fastest cable connection, up to 4Mb/sec, won't even come close to maxing it
out.

Subject: [G4] PCI-X Gigabit Ethernet Card

I'm looking into purchasing one of the new G5's and was wondering if anyone
knows if adding the PCI-X Gigabit Ethernet Card ($100 option) with a cable
modem hook-up would make any appreciable internet surfing difference.
