[G4] Pioneer 105 does not recognise DVD's

I replaced the original CD-burner in my G4/466 zith a Pioneer 105 (=Superdrive).
I reads and writes CD's, does not read DVDs. 
The firmware is 1.33 (= the latest, afaik).

Any ideas?
