[G4] Pioneer 105 does not recognise DVD's

My 105 came with a CD with iDVD on it. Will that work?
Also, looking in my Applications file, I have a copy of iDVD 3 that was 
apparently part of my OS 10.2.6 or .8, when they were factory installed. 
(I have a MDD G4, presently operating with 10.2.8.)
