Hi Dan, I don't have an idea of what ipartition means but if you ask me 
there's no point in partioning an OS X drive. I did it and I saw no 
advantage, and you cannot calculate the room you have to leave either 
for a smooth system behavior or the apps you'll add in the future. My 
advice, leave it in one piece. You won't regret.
