[G4] Hard Drive upgrade in a G4 QS

I have always had trouble starting my QS 2002 in Classic.  Classic runs fine alongside all the OS X versions, but only on rare occasions was I able to force a startup in OS 9.  I had to do it when i installed the processor upgrade (Sonnet dual 1.8 GHz).  I managed it by reinstalling 9.2.2.  I don't know why you would need to start up on 9 when it runs side by side with OS X anyway.
