[G4] Ibook Ethernet Connection

Sorry .. I am trying to connect to the internet via ethernet
connections.. I have a Linksys router connected to the DSL Modem then
through a 5 port switch. The ibook is connected with an ethernet cable
which is not working. I pointed out that it works Ok when using a
wireless connection, which I do not have at my place at the present.
I set the network connection to ethernet and have tried both the DCHP
auto and manual with IP address. The browser cannot find the
server.
