[G4] g4 digital audio and the adc connector?

i heard recently that you cannot use a video card with an adc connection on the g4 da
   
  is that true?
  because i have a 20" cinema screen i've been trying to get to work with my g4da 466
   
  the video card i have is an ati rage 128 pro
   
  what card would be recommended (if any work) so i know what i'm getting myself into
