That is so not nice I can't even believe it. This is a tough room at  
times to be sure, but that response is beyond rude.

As to the question, do you have another working hard drive to test  
with? The one that was in the PC clearly needs formatting, but the  
behavior you describe is beyond my experience. Though I am sure  
someone here can help.
