Richard, I had the same thing happen to me. I thought it could be the fact that I had recently updated my system to OS-X.4.8. Since I use a Microsoft mouse, it worked well, but the keyboard seemed frozen. So I simply inserted the keyboard cable into the other onboard USB slot and everything returned to normal. Odd. But so far, so good. Bill
