[G4] G4 MAc wont startup

This means there is no OS installed on the drive.

It may not be bootable, is it an actual Apple disk or a copy. It may  
also be machine specific.

What is printed on the disk?

After the startup bong, hold down the C key to boot from a CD/DVD in  
the drive.

Do you know anybody with a OS disk either 9 or OS X, that would be  
the cheapest test.

If not your best move it to buy a copy of some version of OS X 10.2  
or 10.3 can be had at a reasonable price.

I would recommend more RAM at least 512, 1 Gig would be best.
