[G4] G4 MAc wont startup

Ridiculous as this may seem, is there a hard drive in the Mac, and is 
is properly connected?  Surprisingly, I got one of the old colorful 
lime iMacs free from a local Freecycle (freecycle.org) for my young 
grandkids' use when they visit us.  IT HAD NO HARD DRIVE IN IT!  Once 
I figured that out, it was no big deal for me to install an old one 
that I had removed from my desktop during an upgrade.  Just worth 
checking.
