[G4] setting up old Hp serial port printer

I just installed the Gutenprint (the former GIMP) printer driver with  
hopes of continuing using the EpsonStylus1520. Worked like a charm on  
this "obsolete" printer that Epson isn't supporting any longer...  
they told me in an email to use GIMP. There's a whole slew of HP  
printers it supports.
