[G4] slow itunes video playback

i have a g4 sawtooth 400MHz 120g hd with 1.5Gb sdram
the problem I am having is the super slow/ stop and go
video playback in either iTunes or Quicktime. this is
with content I have downloaded from iTunes so you
think it would not play choppy.

what 's the deal? i am maxed out with RAM, is my
processor not enough?
