I'd go for 1x 1TB HD instead of 2x 500GB HDs because it'll draw less power
from your power supply and generate less heat inside the case.  Were you
planning on making a RAID array of the 2x 500GB drives or something?

I, and some friends of mine, have had worse luck with WD drives than with
Seagate drives, and Seagate offers a longer warranty, too.
