I've spent many an hour trying to troubleshoot my MY "ATTO UL3D & APPLE-
ATTO UL3S" SLEEP ISSUES. Yes I actually have 2 cards installed and 3
hard drives.
I/you can sleep the display, but deep sleeping the computer gets me into
trouble when it left on for long periods. Obviously YMMV.

Thanks Tom.
I have problems now when the Quick Silver goes to a deep sleep. I have
already changed the preferences to never go to sleep. I checked out the ATTO
cards on their website. For the price of the cards, I can easily buy a
pretty good firewire scanner and forget about hooking up the old SCSI
scanner to the Quick Silver or MDD. I think I will hang on to the beige 266
a while longer.
