Hi Umar,

Exactly so. Eric said, "...pull the drives out of the computer..."

If you have never taken your original drive out, that should not be the problem.
If all you did was to buy a Maxtor, connect it and format it, it's almost 
impossible you have a master/slave problem.

I assume the Maxtor is external? How is it connected to your G4?
